ZIP Code-Based Delivery Fees allow you to set specific delivery charges based on postal codes. This setup gives you precise control over fees, especially useful if delivery costs vary significantly between nearby areas.

When to Use ZIP Code-Based Delivery Fees

Use this configuration when:

• You want to charge different delivery fees for specific ZIP codes.

• You serve areas where distance isn’t the only factor—local taxes or traffic may influence cost.

• You want to apply different tax settings or driver compensation by ZIP code.

How to Access and Set ZIP Code-Based Delivery Fees

Follow these steps to set up delivery fees by ZIP code:

Step 1: From your Hana dashboard, click on Configuration from the left-hand menu.

Step 2: Under Configuration, click on Settings.

Step 3: In the Settings menu, go to Dispatch.

Step 4: Click on ZIP Code-Based Delivery Fees.

Step 5: Click on Add New to set up a new entry.

You will see the following fields:

• ZIP Code – Enter the postal code you want to configure.

• Delivery Fee – Enter the delivery charge for this ZIP code.

• Tax Type – Select the applicable tax if orders to this ZIP need to calculate separate taxes.

• Delivery Pay Rate – Enter the amount to be paid to the driver for successful delivery.

• Non-Delivery Pay Rate – Enter the pay rate if the delivery could not be completed.

• Compliant Delivery Pay Rate – Used if there's a complaint but the delivery was still completed.

Step 6: Click on Submit

Free Delivery Option for Website Orders

• If you are using the Hana website and want to offer free delivery for orders placed online, you can enable the Free Delivery toggle.

• Enter a regular delivery fee (e.g., $10), turn on Free Delivery, and the system will:

  • Charge $0 for website orders going to this ZIP code.

  • Still charge $10 for POS or phone orders going to the same ZIP.

How It Works

• If a ZIP code-based configuration exists for a delivery address, Hana will apply that delivery fee first.

• If there is no match, it will move to the next matching method (e.g., distance, city, or default fees).

This setup ensures fine-grained control over delivery pricing by geographic areas.
